Express Transcript
How to connect Slack integration
Connect your Slack workspace, import selected recordings/files, and transcribe them in Express Transcript.

What this integration does

The Slack integration lets authorized users browse eligible audio/video files from Slack and import selected items for transcription. It is designed for teams that store meeting clips, huddle exports, and shared recordings in channels or direct messages.

Before you start

Install and connect Slack

  1. Open Dashboard → Upload → Meeting apps.
  2. Find Slack and click Connect.
  3. Sign in to Slack, choose your workspace, and approve access.
  4. If connection settings were changed in Slack, reconnect Slack from dashboard so changes apply.
  5. Return to dashboard and confirm Slack status is Connected.

Import recordings/files from Slack

  1. On the Slack card, click Import recordings.
  2. Select a date range and load available files.
  3. Choose a file and click Import.
  4. Transcription starts automatically and appears in your transcripts list.

Only real uploaded audio/video files are listed (not pasted external links).

Access and data behavior

Express Transcript uses read-only access needed to show and import files you choose. The integration does not send messages, post content, or modify Slack workspace data.

Data and privacy

Data is accessed only after user authorization and only for import/transcription workflows initiated by the user. The integration does not delete or alter Slack files, channels, or messages.

See our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service for full legal details.
